Every Woman's Battle by Shannon Ethridge

Proverbial Woman

If a book does not catch me with the synopsis on the back, it must intrigue me in some way upon reading the first paragraph of the book.  It’s one thing to tell me how to be a woman of God, but to go in dept and give me examples of the things that we do as women that causes us to think if its right or wrong is good.  This book has caused me to look at things I have done in my own marriage, past and present, and see that I was behaving in ways that was not pleasing to God.  I have had so many revelations upon reading this book that I thank God for stumbling upon it.  I think twice when it comes to my reactions towards my husband.  I want to be the woman that God has called me to be.  For a better description I want to be that proverbial woman in the book of Proverbs.

God created marriage as a beautiful thing.  We are to be help meets to one another and love each other unconditionally.  I have seen that I have always been a selfish person through the examples and referenced scriptures in this book.  I believe I am now on my way to being a proverbial woman.  This book has truly blessed my marriage.  The workbook section at the end of the book is an added bonus!!!

This book would be an awesome gift for any woman getting married.  I think that young girls need to be exposed to this book as well as a type of family education program.  We are supposed to train our young people to be men and women of God, why not start early?    The world does not care how old they are nor should we mind this aspect when it comes to teaching spiritual things.  I recommend this book to any woman who wants to draw near to the Lord.  I highly recommend this book for any marriage counseling programs and any woman that is engaged!

Bruce Wilkinson "You Were Born for This" with David Kopp

The first day I picked this book up, "You were born for this" I was able to be a God sent blessing to someone.  I opened the book on a Saturday and read the first four pages about the incident at the restaurant and I closed the book.  Almost immediately in my spirit I heard GO!  I opened my mouth and ask my husband if he wanted to go to SC.    I was didnt know what was ahead but I thank  God because I was able to be a blessing for someone.  Just as this book stated, I was able to be an angel for someone that day.  They had no idea that I/we were coming but prior to our visit the woman had prayed to God for her need and he answered.  I was down and out myself; in utter turmoil of the mind.  I said, "Lord, how can you use me to cry out for someone or to help them when my own present situation is before me."  Believe me when I say my situation was pulling me.  Needless to say, when we are weak he is strong and when we are at our weakest he is shinning strong.

This book has blessed me tremendously.  I have a new perspective on being a saved Christian in today's world.  I am up praying and seeking the face of God.  I need more of Jesus.  I want to be used by the Lord to perform miracles among his people by the power of his holy spirit working in me.  This book was an eye opener and in general is a good book to read if you want to know some present day workings of the supernatural power of God.  Every page is full of another blessing.  There are  videos to go with each chapter in the back of the book.
I would recommend this book whole heartily to anyone seeking a good Christian book to read.  As his word say the joy of the Lord is my strength.  This book has enlightened me to supernatural workings of God.  This book started my journey and a family road trip that took 4 hours and a miracle in the making.
